Melody has been a loyal and dedicated volunteer since the early days of the clinic. She was encouraged to volunteer by another volunteer she met at her fitness center. Since the clinic was located near her house, she decided to give it a try. When Pharmacy Director Larry Bowman found out she had worked in a pharmacy in high school, she was immediately recruited to work in the pharmacy area.

26 years later, she is the Pharmacy Manager and volunteers 1-2 days a week, keeping the pharmacy well stocked, organized and running efficiently. “I like helping people. This is such a great cause because it makes a difference in people’s lives. I like all the people who volunteer here. So many of us have been here for so long, we have become family”. Thank you Melody for being such a caring and dedicated individual. You have truly made a difference in the lives of many!

Pam has been volunteering at the clinic every Wednesday for over 7 years. After retiring from her career at Verizon, she traveled and visited with friends and family for 2 years. At the end of 2 years she realized she needed something more to occupy her time as “she did not want to become a couch potato”. At a routine visit with her family doctor, (Dr. Stephen Parks- co-founder of the Clinic), Pam mentioned that she was looking for something meaningful to do with her time and he told her that she should volunteer at The Outreach Clinic. She contacted us right away and instantly became part of our wonderful family of volunteers. Pam adds her own special “Southern Charm” to her duties helping out at the front desk, keeping the clinic tidy, organized and surprises us on Wednesdays with wonderful baked goodies.

“When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.”
